MISSION

The Health Education for Life Project (H.E.L.P.) provides accessible and informative workshops to help you live your healthiest life. All workshops and seminar series are free of charge and cover a variety of topics such as: Identifying Allergens, Staying Healthy During the Holiday Season, and How to Identify Various Skin Conditions.

Our workshops are primarily geared towards providing education and resources to underserved populations in the Houston, TX area. All workshops are hosted by Evelyn Wong as well as an accompanying medical professional in the subject of the workshop. Sessions are both engaging and informative; it is our goal to ensure participants feel empowered to take charge of their health.

FOUNDER & WORKSHOP FACILITATOR:

Evelyn Wong

My name is Evelyn Wong, and I am a junior in high school. In addition to educating individuals about their healthcare, I strive to exemplify leadership, compassion, and kindness. I am on my high school’s varsity volleyball team and involved in multiple local nonprofits.

Furthermore, I am a mentor to younger students in my community, providing them with guidance and support in their academic and personal growth. I also have a passion for community service, volunteering every Sunday at my church as an usher and greeter.

As a varsity volleyball player, I’ve learned the value of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance, both on and off the court. Being part of a competitive team has taught me how to stay focused under pressure and support my teammates in achieving collective success.

Beyond sports, my involvement in various local nonprofits has deepened my understanding of social issues and strengthened my commitment to helping others. I regularly participate in organizing community outreach events, fundraising initiatives, and hands-on volunteer activities like farmer’s markets. These experiences have allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and develop leadership skills that I hope to carry into my future career.

As I look toward the future, I am eager to combine my interests in healthcare and community service, aspiring to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by providing compassionate care and advocating for health education. With a strong foundation in leadership, resilience, and empathy, I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and am committed to continuing my journey of growth and service.
